Repair job card software with photos, fields and a printable job sheet
By Thamjeed Lal, Founder · Published by ATSCOM Technology Experts LLP · Updated
Quikpair’s repair job card software records a device at the counter: who brought it, what it is, what is wrong with it, and what condition it arrived in. The job card (or repair ticket, as it is called in the UK and US) holds one or more devices, each with its own issues, photos and costs, and prints as an A4 job sheet or an 80mm thermal receipt.
A digital job card with only three required fields
New repair opens the intake form. You pick the customer by name, phone or email, use Nearby to find one close to the shop, or add a new customer without leaving the repair. Then you fill in the three required fields, each marked with a red asterisk: Brand, Item and Issues. A brand or item that is not in your lists yet is added as new when you type it.
Everything else can wait until the technician has looked at the device and be added later with Edit, so a busy counter is never held up by the form.
- Quantity, and the Serial Number or IMEI, typed or read with Scan QR/Barcode.
- Issues picked from your list, plus an Issue Description in the customer’s own words.
- Estimated Cost, Service Cost, the technician under Assign To and the Expected Completion Date.
Service job card details: included items, risks and device lock
The Additional Information section records the device’s condition at hand-over. Included Items lists what came in with it, such as a charger, case or SIM tray. Excluded / Missing Items lists what did not, so nobody is blamed later. Risks records anything the customer should accept before work starts, such as data loss.
Device Password / Lock takes None, PIN, Password or Pattern. PIN and Password give a box to type it in; Pattern gives a grid to draw it on, so the technician can unlock the device. Repair Collect Date & Time records when the customer plans to come back, and Additional Notes takes anything else the workshop should know.
Photos and several devices on one job card
You can take up to 10 photos per device as it arrived, which settles arguments about scratches and cracks at collection. If the customer brought more than one device, the + tab adds another to the same intake, and each device keeps its own issues, photos, costs and status.
A returning customer with the same device can tick Create from Previous Repair (Re-entry) to copy the earlier job’s details, including Additional Information, into the new job card.
A printable job sheet and barcode sticker
Print on the repair produces the full A4 job card, and the thermal button beside it prints an 80mm counter receipt. The layout follows the repair print template you pick in Settings, classic or modern. A batch of repairs prints as one document.
Print Sticker prints a barcode sticker carrying the ticket number, so the device can be scanned back out of the workshop. Sticker size and layout are set once under Settings, and the repair numbering prefix and format are set under document numbering.
Warranty and commission fields
Under Warranty & Pricing, switch on Under Warranty and add a Warranty Description and Warranty Expiry Date. A Commission agent can be credited with a percentage of the Service Cost when someone referred the customer; it is earned only once the repair is Delivered and is never printed on the job card.
Frequently asked questions
What is a job card in a repair shop?
A job card is the document raised when a customer hands in a device for repair: customer, device, reported issues, condition, costs and expected date. In Quikpair the job card is created with New repair, and it becomes the repair ticket the workshop tracks until delivery.
How do I create a repair job card in Quikpair?
Open Repairs, tap New, select the customer, then fill in Brand, Item and Issues. Add the serial or IMEI, Additional Information, photos, costs and technician if you have them, and save. The full steps are in the Book in a repair guide under Repairs.
Can I record the customer’s phone passcode or pattern lock?
Yes. Device Password / Lock on each device takes None, PIN, Password or Pattern, and Pattern gives a grid to draw the unlock pattern on.
Can I print the job card on a thermal printer?
Yes. Print gives a full A4 job card, and the thermal button beside it prints on an 80mm thermal printer. The layout follows the classic or modern repair print template chosen in Settings.
