How cost batches work in Quikpair

Each delivery is its own batch at its own cost, so profit is worked out against what you really paid.

Steps

1. Open the product and find Cost Batch History.

   

2. Available Batches lists each delivery with its Purchase Date, Unit Cost, and how much is Remaining.
3. A batch that has been sold through shows as Depleted.
4. Weighted Avg Cost is the average across everything still on hand.
5. Inventory Value is that average times the quantity you hold.

Good to know

• Buy the same part at two prices and the two are kept apart, so a sale from the cheaper batch is not credited with the dearer cost.
• Batches are created by receiving a purchase, which is why receiving matters and raising the order does not.
